I know I feel the pain at the pump, the grocery store, on my utility bills, and just about everywhere else an invoice comes due. Working families are being asked to stretch every dollar further, and Springfield should be expected to do the same. It’s a priority of mine to examine the supply chains for goods and energy within Illinois, reduce unnecessary costs, and find ways to lower the tax burden on families, workers, and businesses across our state. At the same time, we need to make sure every state dollar is being used efficiently and actually delivering value to the people who earned it. If families across Illinois have to watch their pocketbooks, state government should too.

In rural Illinois, it can take an hour or more just to reach the specialist you need. Healthcare should be accessible when you need it, not another financial or logistical burden on working families. It’s my priority to expand access to care for all Illinoisans, especially in rural communities. I want to fight rising insurance costs and prescription drug prices, while making sure government and hospital policies do not come between patients and the healthcare decisions they make with their providers.

For generations, owning a home has been a cornerstone of the American Dream. But today, for too many working families and young people, that dream feels increasingly out of reach. Illinois, like much of the country, needs more affordable and attainable housing. If elected, it will be a priority of mine to increase the supply of housing, expand pathways to homeownership, and make sure everyday Illinoisans have a fair shot at putting down roots and building a future in the communities they call home.

Illinois’s 74th District is home to local and state parks, nature preserves, farmland, and private property with remarkable wildlife and natural resources. Protecting these places from harmful pollution and irreversible environmental damage is a priority of mine. We have a responsibility to preserve the land, water, and natural beauty of our communities for the people who live here today and for future generations.

If elected, it will be a priority of mine to advance job growth and economic opportunity not just in the 74th District, but throughout Illinois. I want to build strong working relationships with manufacturers and other industries to help attract new investment and good paying jobs to our communities. At the same time, we need to invest in our workforce by expanding access to skilled trades, technical education, apprenticeships, and other training opportunities that prepare Illinoisans for the jobs of today and tomorrow.
